6 Ideas To Help You Get Cheap / Free Hip, Stylish Baby Clothes
Posted on 10 February 2015
Outfitting your baby shouldn't break the bank, but with onesies from some of the raddest, most stylish baby shops costing between $25 and $50 an item, your little one's outfits can add up fast! (Trust me, I know.)
So to combat the never-ending drain on your wallet, I've come up with five simple steps to getting your hands on cool / hip / affordable baby clothes.
Get connected to the shops you love via their brand rep programs and newsletters. Almost everybody has a Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Tumblr account, but for staying in the know of what's new and good, Instagram is the place to be. New companies are popping up every day, and your best bet of outfitting your baby in the brands you love for less is getting connected.
What does that mean? Be a regular in their Instagram community - comment, like and tag people whose styles match their products. Support the brand by buying one or two items you can afford and posting pictures of your kids in the clothes.
After you've done all that, ask if you can be a brand representative for them. Most places offer free products in exchange for quality lifestyle pictures of your kids in the clothes. So it's a win/win.
Consign your old stuff and shop at the same time! Consignment stores are everywhere, so keep your baby's clothes in good condition and sell them when they get too small. It's a simple way to put cash back in to your pocket so you can buy more rad stuff for your little. What's more, if there's a trendy consignment shop in your area, you can find some great baby outfits there for cheap!
Subscribe to a collective shop. Being a member of a collective is a fantastic way to get deals. Oftentimes new and upcoming shops offer great discounts to get their product selling, so you'll not only benefit from being the first to know about the coolest new shops, but you'll also be saving cash on cool, stylish baby clothes.
Subscribe to the company's newsletter so you stay up to date with their sales.
Host a selling party, Avon-style. Got friends with littles? Do you share their style? Perfect. Organize a selling party for the collective shops or for the brands you love. You may need to pay an initial investment for product samples at first, but you'll get store credit for whatever you sell too. That could prove to be a lucrative way of getting your kids clothes for really, really cheap.
- Become an affiliate for the shops you love. Affiliate programs are a great way to earn extra cash that you can use to buy whatever you'd like. How it works is you sign up to be a part of the program, and the shop in question gives you a unique link (or set of links) for the products you want to sell. You put your unique link on your blog, Facebook page, YouTube channel, or anywhere you can get it. When someone clicks your link and buys a product, you get a percentage of that sale.
