Sassafraz - Sugar Skull Rattle

Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos is a rad Mexican celebration of life.

As the belief goes, on October 31st of every year the gates of heaven open and all of the deceased children (angelitos) come back to reunite with their loved ones for 24 hours.

On November 2nd, the adults come down from heaven to enjoy the festivities and join in the celebration.

El dia is an important Mexican tradition, mostly because it's a beautiful celebration of life. The families who take part decorate beautiful altars with candles, flowers, food, water and, of course, sugar skulls to pay tribute to the loved ones they've lost.

Sugar skulls aren't just rad because of what they represent, but they are rad because no two are ever identical. Often handmade or hand painted, each has its own personality and element of creativity, allowing the person who creates them to put their own stamp on it, and put themselves in to the final result.

Grab your little a sugar skull rattle or two! You'll love them as much as we do.
